Northwest Video

Student Groups

Students are not ordinarily allowed to log in to Northwest Video. If, as an instructor, you want to allow your students to post video content, you must contact the CITE Office and arrange to have a student group created for your class.

What is a student group?

A student group allows certain students to log in to Northwest Video and post content. Student groups are time-limited and will expire, meaning the students may only log in and post during a certain date range. The students will not be allowed to log in outside of that date range.

Where can I find my students' videos?

If you have requested a student group for a class you are teaching, you will become the "owner" of the group. If you have any groups, you will see a new link in the navigation bar on the left of the web page labeled "My Students' Videos." All groups you own will show up here. You can click on the small +/- icon next to each group to expand it and see all the students in the group. You can then expand each student to see their videos. You can click directly on the video's title to watch it, or you can expand the video and see more information, including an edit link if you need to edit the title or description of your students' videos.

What happens to my students' videos after the group expires?

After the student group expires, the video content will remain and you will still be able to find it through "My Students' Videos." However, the students will no longer be able to log in, upload, or modify their content.

I'm an instructor, how do I request a student group for one of my classes?

Please contact the CITE Office at (660) 562-1532 and we can set this up for you. Be prepared to tell us what class the group is for, during what date range the group should be valid, and also please have a list of your students' logins (S-numbers) handy so that we can enroll your students.

I'm a student and my instructor requires me to upload a video. What do I do?

Read through these help pages for more information. To log in, go to the Northwest Video login page to get started or go to Logging In for help. If you are unable to login, please contact your instructor or the CITE Office for help. For help on submitting a video, check out Uploading Videos .
