This agreement provides students who have earned an Associate in Applied Science in Accounting the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Northwest. Any Metropolitan Community College student who has earned an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting is guaranteed that Northwest will accept designated freshman and sophomore business credit hours, general education credits required for the A.A.S. degree, plus any freshman and sophomore general education hours required by Northwest beyond the A.A.S. degree. Northwest will apply such to the Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in a manner consistent with the treatment of all Northwest students.

Metro students maintaining continuous enrollment under this agreement or transferring into Northwest within one year from the last registration date with Metro will be afforded the same treatment and protection as a Northwest native student enrolled under the Northwest catalog in effect the year the student officially started at Metro.

A maximum of 84 semester hours/126 quarter hours will be accepted by Northwest from Metropolitan Community College to be applied to the Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree. Courses that are developmental (less than 100 level courses) are not transferable toward a baccalaureate degree. Only academic courses with passing letter grades (A, B, C, D) will be accepted for graduation requirements; courses with grades of "F" are not transferable. For information about credits earned through AP, IB, CLEP and dual enrollment programs, please contact the Northwest Admissions office.

Students seeking admission to Northwest must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) in transfer. The Office of Admissions at Northwest has established application procedures. Students should contact the Office of admissions for details or consult the Northwest Undergraduate Academic Catalog.

Advanced Standing Requirement

In order to graduate with a major in accounting, a minimum grade of "C" is required in each of the courses listed below, and in Accounting I and Accounting II.
